A friendly habit and goal tracker. One tap to check in, streaks that cheer you on without scolding, goals with milestones, and letters to the person you’re becoming. It stays on your own device, with no account and no AI.

What it’s like

A little progress, every day

Habitphernalia is for showing up, not for keeping score. Tap, smile, get on with your day.

One tap a day

Today shows just what’s due, and one tap checks it in. Add a note if you like (“walked to the church and back”). Habits can be every day, on chosen weekdays, or a few times a week.

  • An emoji, a colour, and an optional “why” line for each habit
  • Undo, reorder, archive or bring a habit back any time
  • Gentle encouragement, never guilt

Streaks without the scolding

See your current streak, your best one, and how often you’ve shown up over the last 30 days. Every habit has its own calendar, and you can tap a past day to fill in one you forgot.

Goals with milestones

Give a goal a target date and a few milestones. Tick them off yourself, or link one to a habit (“20 evening walks”) and it fills in as you check in. A progress bar shows how close you are.

Letters to future me

Write a few lines to yourself and seal them until a date you choose: six months, a year, or the day your goal is due. The envelope stays shut, unread even by you, until that morning arrives.

Check-ins this week, streaks going, best streaks and every check-in so far, for each habit and all of them together.

Kept safe, for the long run

Your device keeps a snapshot each day, and a backup file holds every habit, check-in and letter. Restoring one merges it in without erasing anything.

  • Export a Markdown summary and a CSV of every check-in
  • Sealed letters stay sealed in exports, shown only by date
  • Light and dark themes, or follow your phone

Private by design

Your progress is yours alone

Habitphernalia was built so it stays that way. There’s no company server holding your habits or letters, because they never leave your device.

Stays on your device

Everything is kept in your browser on your own phone or computer. It’s never uploaded, so no one else can see your habits.

No account

Nothing to sign up for, no password to remember, and no email address to hand over.

No AI

Nothing reads your notes or letters, and nothing nags you. Every word is yours.

No tracking

No ads, no cookies, and nothing that follows you around the web. The app has no analytics at all; this website counts page visits privately, without cookies (details). It works offline, too.

Put it on your home screen

Habitphernalia runs in your web browser, so there’s no app store and nothing to download. Add it to your home screen and it opens like any other app, even without the internet.

  2. Tap the Share button, the square with an arrow pointing up.
  3. Choose Add to Home Screen, then tap Add.

On iPhone, adding it to your home screen also helps Safari keep your habits safe.

Android

  1. Open habit-app-8jw.pages.dev in Chrome.

  3. Choose Install app or Add to Home screen.

Computer

Each phone or computer keeps its own habits. A backup file is how you move them from one to another.

Questions

Good questions, plain answers

What does “Habitphernalia” mean?

Paraphernalia are the small, useful things that go with a pursuit. Habitphernalia is the kit for the life you are building: the habits, the goals, and a letter or two to the person you are becoming.

What if I miss a day?

Nothing bad happens. There are no red marks and no guilt. If you did it but forgot to tap, open that habit and tap the day on its calendar. Habits set to a few times a week count by the week, so a rest day doesn’t break anything.

Can I open a sealed letter early?

No, and that’s the point. A letter stays sealed until its date, then opens on that day’s page as “A letter from you, written …”. Until then you’ll only see the envelope and its opening date.

Is it private?

Yes. Your habits and letters are stored only in your browser, on your own phone or computer. They’re never uploaded anywhere. There’s no account and no advertising, and the app has no analytics, so there’s no one to share them with.

Does it work offline?

Yes. After your first visit, Habitphernalia opens and saves without an internet connection. Adding it to your home screen makes it feel just like any other app.

What happens after the free trial?

You can use everything in Habitphernalia free for 14 days. After that, unlock it to keep checking in. Your habits and letters are never locked away: you can always open, export and back them up. One payment unlocks it for good on that device, and the key works on your other devices too.

What happens if I get a new phone?

Your habits live on the device you use, so they won’t move over by themselves. Before you switch, open Settings and save a backup: one file holding everything. Keep it in iCloud Drive or Google Drive, or email it to yourself.

On the new phone, open the app, go to Settings, choose Restore, and pick that file. Restoring merges with what’s already there and never erases it.

How much will it cost?

Habitphernalia is $6.99, one time, with no subscription. Try it free for 14 days first. No account or card needed for the trial.

What do I need to use it?

Just a web browser: Safari on iPhone or iPad, Chrome on Android, or Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox on a computer. There’s nothing to download from an app store.

Start with one small habit.

Pick one, tap it tomorrow, and let the days add up.
